Project Outcome 1: Innovative Course curricula
The project aimed the analysis of the specific training needs of potential users in order to focus on the most important needs of professional development of physiotherapists. A questionnaire was prepared and applied to physiotherapists. By this questionnaire, the most commonly used parameters of the current (such as type, frequency, duration, etc.) were determined
Project Results 2: Open access education modules
The open access course module was developed with regarding the information that was obtained from project results 1. This open access course modules can also be used as a clinical key for electrical stimulation in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. In the project, 5 open access modules and introduction section were prepared.
Introduction
Module 1: healthy and denervated muscles physiology
Module 2: currents used for electrical stimulation approaches
Module 3: electrical stimulation for healthy muscles
Module 4: electrical stimulation for de-innervated muscles
Module 5: electrical stimulation for re-innervated muscles.
The training modules consists of working sessions (which are estimated as 2 to 3 hours for each). A validation process was carried out through pilot courses with contribution of professional users and experts. The pilot course was applied to 78 physiotherapists (minimum 10 PTs from Türkiye, Romania and Lithuania). The implementation of the pilot course was carried out in the online learning platform. The training course and open access educational materials were available in 3 countries’ in their respective languages: Türkiye, Romania, and Lithuania. The complete course is also in English. Open access educational materials were book chapter with detailed information, short presentation and video presentation.
Firstly, all modules were prepared in English. Each partner was responsible in translation of the course modules to their native language. As the process of the translation to native languages completed, the pilot testing was conducted with at least 10 PTs from each country in order to get the feedbacks (comments, suggestions, recommendations etc) from the PTs.
Project Results 3: Development of Guide Book of Course Modules
The guidebook of open access course was developed with regarding the information obtained from O1 and literature. The learning material was structured according to a competency based learning approach. Each partner translated it their native language.
